First Pow Day Lap at Alta

By | January 8, 2009

I’ve often tried to communicate to friends and family what it’s like to wait in line, get on the chair, cross the High Traverse, then ski High Boy non-stop for first lap on a deep morning at Alta.

There is nothing like it, and I for one feel incredibly privileged to have been able to do just what you see below on many MANY deep mornings in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Credits go to Sage for producing the killer video piece below with his head cam (BTW Sage has a bunch of amazing vids at YouTube…check out sagePerspective). He starts this out from a fired up lift line, area opening to the cheers of the crowd. Then some cool shots from the lift ride itself, fast fwds through the burly deep & slow high t crossing, then let’s em run once he hits piss pass and drops into High Rustler. CLASSIC! Thanks Sage!!
